Car roll back causes leg injury

A 60-YEAR-OLD MAN has sustained a broken leg after his car rolled down a ditch in Gawler East on Tuesday afternoon.

The man – who was traveling with his wife – came to a stop on the side of Balmoral Road, south of the Lucks Road intersection, to deal with car troubles at around midday yesterday (Tuesday).

It’s believed the vehicle was accidentally left in gear and began to roll backwards, down the hill, into a ditch on the side of the road.

Both the man and woman were out of the vehicle when it rolled back, but the man was struck on the leg by the vehicle’s open door, causing the injury.

The man was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Balmoral Road was closed between Calton and Lucks Roads while police waited for the vehicle to be towed away from the site.
