Sturt Highway spillage

A MALE driver left a tri-axle trailer on the side of the Sturt Highway on Friday after losing control of it and causing cargo to fall off.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident, in Kingsford, shortly after 1.30pm, but arrived to find only the trailer, which came to a rest, horizontal, in the ditch next to the highway.

The trailer had been carrying steel parts, which had been dislodged and, some, strewn across the ground.

Police said the driver did return to the site and tested negative to both drugs and alcohol.

A mechanical fault was deemed to be the cause of the crash, and no further action was taken.
