Teachers, students shave locks to fight cancer

TRINITY College Senior School staff and students recently participated in the Leukaemia Foundation World’s Greatest Shave.

Several staff and students upheld the Trinity tradition on Thursday, May 24, by having their heads shaved during their lunch break as a way to raise money to combat cancer.

Trinity College senior vice-captain Liam Beazleigh organised the event and also volunteered to shave his head for the worthy cause.

However, students did not only have to shave their heads to donate, as year 11 and 12 students participated in a casual clothes day as a way to raise money for the charity.

Students also showed their support for the foundation by hosting a bake stall and selling muffins, slices and cupcakes during the event.

The school raised $1300 on the day, with donations still rolling in at the time of print.
