Truck/car collision causes traffic chaos

NORTHBOUND traffic on Main North Road, at Evanston, was significantly delayed on Monday afternoon, following a collision between a truck and car adjacent the Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club racecourse.

A police spokesperson said emergency services responded to the scene shortly after 3.40pm, after a silver Subaru wagon travelling north collided with a Woolworths Volvo truck travelling south.

“The car has allegedly crossed the centre line colliding with the trailer of the truck,” the spokesperson said.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Para Hills man, received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old Findon man, was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
