Woman dies from truck collision

POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a truck on Port Wakefield Road, near Dublin, earlier this week.

The incident occurred just before 2pm on Monday on a part of the highway near Limerock Road, in Lower Light.

Port Wakefield Road was closed off to traffic for several hours following the incident, before reopening to all traffic.

Major Crash investigators are still investigating the incident.

The woman’s death takes the state’s road toll to 10 as compared to 11 for the same time last year.
