Bus stop a ‘worrying’ sign

GRATEFUL for the kindness of nearby residents for providing seating, Evanston’s Felicity Rogers, who works at Martindale Nursing Home, is concerned that during winter a lack of shelter while waiting for a bus is looking to be a real possibility.

“Many of the buses are quite old and are frequently breaking down,” Ms Rogers said.

“Sometimes they are early and just keep going if I and other people reliant on buses aren’t here waiting yet.

“They can be late also.”

Ms Rogers also needs to go to Adelaide once a month.

“Because the route requires frequent stopping it’s almost two hours before we reach the city stop,” she revealed.

“Without the reliability, shelter and comfort of rail travel, early or late buses, no shelters from wind or rain, and uncertainty of when things will return to normal it is a worrying sign for those working in Gawler without private transport.”
