TOSers find some touch despite results
1 min read

IT was a long day in the field for Trinity Old Scholars in its Adelaide Turf Cricket Association A1 match against Ingle Farm, with the home side batting all day without opting to chase an outright win.
Ingle Farm had the match wrapped up in the first couple of hours of day two as Matthew Cuconits (51) and Luke Pickford (77) raced past the target.
While the hosts could have built a quick lead and sent the TOSers back in, it instead chose to bat for a full 86 overs before being bowled out for 269, winning by 158 runs.
Jarryd Furnell was the TOSers’ best with the ball, taking 4/72 in 24 overs of work, while Bradley Schaper (3/63 from 19 overs) and Joshua Southwell (2/40) carried the attack admirably with almost nothing to play for in the last few hours.
In A3, Trinity was sent in to bat trailing by 129 and looking to avoid an outright loss, and ended up having a nice day at the crease.
Opener Dominic De Ruvo played a strong long-form innings, batting for more than four hours on his way to a score of 72 from 208 deliveries.
Teammates Nicholas Goodman (50 from 80 deliveries) and captain Bradley Matters (40 from 90 deliveries) both chipped in on the way to an 80-over total of 6/206 to avoid the outright loss and carry some momentum into next week.
In LO 4, Trinity left Walkerville with the points after successfully defending a 40-over score of 9/185, claiming a 34-run win.
Trinity’s Para District Cricket Association LO 2 side finished off a decent round for the TOSers, chasing down One Tree Hill’s 113 with 17 overs and five wickets in hand.
