Name change becomes official

EYRE is officially the newest suburb in Playford after residents within part of the existing Penfield region welcomed the renaming of their suburb last fortnight.
The new suburb, named after Australian explorer Edward John Eyre, encompasses residents living within the area bordered by Womma, Stebonheath, Petherton and Andrews roads in Penfield.
As a result of the name change, it is important for residents to update their new address with their utility organisations and other service providers.
The postcode of 5121 will be retained.
Playford Council previously consulted with 193 affected households and found 77 per cent supported the name change.
