GAWLER Central ground out a one goal victory over Tanunda in a heated game of Barossa, Light & Gawler reserves football on Saturday afternoon.

Paul Bova was terrific for the Tigers with three majors, but it was Corey Nesbitt, who returned to play after a heavy head knock, who kicked the winning goal late in the final term.

For the Magpies, Parker Neldner was yellow carded in the third term, while Lachlan Kemp was the only multiple goal-kicker with two.

Meanwhile, Angaston took out a 15-point win over Willaston Alex Brackstone continued his stellar goal-kicking form with three majors, and Jamie Clarke slotted three for the Donnybrooks.

Elsewhere, Nuriootpa thrashed Barossa District by 54 points.

Adam Spencer and Nathan Duncan kicked the two solitary goals for the Dogs.

Lastly, a fast-finishing Kapunda came from behind to defeat South Gawler by 22 points.

Brodie Cox slotted five in his first game of the year for the Bombers, while Brayden Cook kicked two majors for the losing side.

Under 17

Tanunda sent a message to the rest of the competition by belting Gawler Central by 76 points.

Shay Linke, Isaac Feltus, Liam Ellis, Ashtyn Steinert and Aaron Bert all kicked two goals each for the Magpies in the victory.

Jaye Mathews was best on ground for the defeated Tigers, and also finished with a major.

Meanwhile, Willaston easily accounted for Angaston by 42 points.

The Donnybrooks led by just five points at half-time, but kicked eight goals to two in the second half to storm away.

Tahjin Krieg slotted four goals, while Zac East and Josh Schmidt kicked three each.

Elsewhere, Nuriootpa held off a fast-finishing Barossa District by nine points.

The Bulldogs trailed by 33 points at half-time and by 20 points at three quarter-time, but almost snatched the win.

Mitch Doecke was sensational for the Tigers with four goals, and Luke Standen kicked three for the Dogs.

Finally, South Gawler escaped Dutton Park with the two premiership points after defeating Kapunda by a mere three points.

The Bombers led by 19 points at three-quarter-time, but conceded 3.5 to one behind in the final stanza to fall away.

Cody Gilchrist kicked two goals for the Lions.

Tanunda cruised to a 28-point victory over Gawler Central in the junior colts.

Finn Reed was terrific for the Pies with three goals, while Kye Demarchi kicked two of his side’s three majors.

Meanwhile, Angaston got on the board in 2019 in a big way by belting Willaston by 52 points.

Koby Rosenzweig kicked six goals in his first game, while Malayke Kohlhagen slotted four.

For the Donnybrooks, Ethan Hillier booted four majors.

Elsewhere, Barossa District crushed Nuriootpa by eight goals.

Nathan Weinhengst was best on ground with four goals.

In the remaining match, South Gawler accounted for Kapunda by 31 points.

Lochlan Hodge kicked three goals, while Lochie Riggs and Tyson Golder chipped in with two each for South.
