Lyell Mac coronavirus clinic picks up positive tests

MULTIPLE positive test results for COVID-19 have been recorded at the Lyell McEwin Hospital’s coronavirus testing clinic since it opened on March 9.

The clinic was the main centre for coronavirus testing in the north until the Gawler Health Service clinic opened on Friday.

SA Health did not confirm exactly how many people had tested positve to the virus, but a spokesperson said  positive tests had been made at the hospital.

As of Thursday night, 680 people had been tested and another 240 people presented at the clinic but were not tested as they failed to show the correct symptoms or meet criteria.

The LMH testing clinic is located in the Muna Paiendi health service building off of Mark Road, away from the main hospital complex.

SA Health guidelines ask the public to only present for testing if they have COVID-19 symptoms and have returned from overseas in the past 14 days, interstate in the past seven days, have had contact with a confirmed case or a healthcare worker.
