TOSer victory sets up must-win finale

WITH every game from here a must-win for the Trinity Old Scholars to hold onto its spot in the top-four of Adelaide Footy League’s division six competition, the TOSers banked a comfortable 15.14 (104) to 5.7 (37) win at Mawson Lakes.
Kicking against a strong breeze in the first quarter, Trinity jumped out of the blocks with picture-perfect wet-weather footy, bagging six-goals-to-zero in the opening term.
After another 10 scoring shots in the second period, the game was essentially over at halftime as Trinity went into the main break up 69-4.
The second half was a more competitive affair with each side kicking five goals, as TOSers Liam Nottle tallied six majors for himself, while teammate and fellow Liam, Liam Edwards, got four.
Trinity captain and best-on-ground Dylan Winning (three goals) said it wasn’t always pretty, but his group is learning how to win.
“It was another good win – nothing spectacular due to the weather, but the boys did what we had to do,” he said.
“A few players got to play in different positions, and more rotations allowed everybody to stay fresh for what is essentially finals this week.
“We started the game well to be up by six goals at quarter time, and then 10 at the half, which was our aim to put the lower side away early so we could just focus on playing our structure and consistent team footy.”

Trinity plays Elizabeth in the last round of the home-and-away season this Saturday with its top-four spot on the line.
