Trinity no match for Salisbury

TRINITY Old Scholars fell back into the relegation zone on Saturday as it succumbed to Salisbury by 57 points in division five of the Adelaide Football league.

The TOSers started the round just above the bottom two, but Rosewater’s heavy win over Blackfriars Old Scholars put them back into ninth place on percentage.

Trinity was no match for Salisbury, as it only kicked six goals to the Magpies’ 15.

Josh Mann slotted six himself for the victors, while Matthew Fleming snagged three.

Trinity’s season comes to a head this Saturday, as it takes on Rosewater at Eric Sutton Oval, with the winner likely to keep its spot in division five, and the loser certain to go back down to division six with other bottom side Blackfriars.

In the reserves, Trinity lost to Salisbury by 123 points.

The TOSers trailed by only eight points at quarter-time, but then conceded 20 goals to two.

Liam Short kicked six for the Pies, while Scott Blachin had five, and Richard Decrea booted four.

For Trinity, Matt Perry continued his recent good form with two goals, while Matthew Burne was his team’s best on the day.
