CALOMBA-based trainer Paul Fagan enjoyed a double with two runners both jumping out of box-eight and leading for the entirety of their respective journeys at Gawler Greyhounds last week.
Fagan kicked off the first of his double with Hunkapapa, which won comfortably by two lengths, in 22.95 seconds over the 400m distance.
The second winner came in another 400m event, with Hopey Girl running a very similar 22.93 seconds and also winning by two lengths.
Paul and his wife Leanne have been involved with greyhounds over many years, and are heavily involved in the Greyhound As Pets program by providing temporary accommodation for greyhounds waiting to find their new home.
Also scoring a double was Murray Bridge trainer Greg Board, whose two winners both ran handy times.
The first winner was Spring Cobra, which finished powerfully to take the lead in the home straight after being well back in the run.
Recording a fast time of 30.80 seconds over the 531m trip, Spring Cobra won comfortably by over three lengths, before Board’s other winner, Spring Halo, led all the way in a 400m event with nearly five lengths in hand to take it out in 22.61 seconds.
Races for this week will be tomorrow, October 8, starting at 4.45pm, and on Tuesday afternoon, so head down to the track for all the action.
