POLICE are continuing to investigate four deliberately lit fires that occurred in the Gawler area over the past two months.
The first was just after 5am on Sunday, January 21, with police and CFS called to Julian Terrace after reports of a small grass fire near the creek area.
At 5.40pm on Monday, January 22, police and CFS were called to Paterson Terrace after reports of a grass fire near the bike track.
Then, at about 3.10am on Thursday, February 1, a small grass fire was lit behind the Gawler Showgrounds, on Nixon Terrace.
Furthermore, at about 5am on Tuesday, February 6, police and CFS were called to Chignell Circuit, in Reid, after reports of a grass fire near the creek area.
CFS crews were quick to extinguish the fires and no damage was caused to any property.
Police believe all the fires were deliberately lit and investigations are continuing. It is also unknown if the fires are linked.
Last week, a 44-year-old Gawler West woman was arrested and charged with arson, in relation to a small grass fire at a vacant block in Myall Street, at about 5pm, on February 17.
